< BACK TO ENERGY NATURAL REFRIGERANT SOLUTIONS

Agri food warehouse

One of the French agri-food leaders based in the south-west of France, renowned for its foie gras and smoked salmon, had the project to invest in new equipment in order to save energy and reduce its environmental impact.
It is in this context that we had the honor to be asked to accompany our client in this major project of decarbonation of their production and storage sites.
Their existing refrigeration facilities relied on freon, a refrigeration gas that is notorious for its role in destroying the ozone layer. After a thorough study of their needs and their existing facilities, our sales team and our design office proposed a technical solution tailored to our client, a technical proposal which resulted in an order for our greatest pride.
After a few months of manufacture, the first machine was delivered in 2013 to the site of Saint Geours de Marenne to replace their freon-based installations. This 1150 kW NH3 (ammonia) machine produces glycol water at -3/-7°C to power a complete wing of the plant.
Our customer therefore has a greener and more economical refrigeration solution! But the advantages of our machine do not stop there: it is equipped with a heat recovery on the condensation that allows the preheating of the washing water, a function that allows to recycle the energy in order to create heat this time, while being eco-friendly.
In 2016, the second machine was delivered to the same site to feed a second production unit in the factory. This machine has the same characteristics as the previous one, but has an additional function: the recovery of heat from oil, which allows the building to be supplied with domestic hot water up to a temperature of 60°C and this in the most ecological and economical way possible.
It will be 2021 and 2022 before everything accelerates! Three machines are ordered and installed. Two cooling units with a unit power of 1050 kW operating at NH3 are installed for the last two production units at the Saint Geours de Marenne site and a machine with a power of 1530 kW is installed at the CAME site to replace energy-intensive and environmentally unfriendly facilities. Designed on the same philosophy as the previous cooling groups with energy optimization and total heat recovery, these groups are at the cutting edge of technology and allow our client to respect its commitment to environmental responsibility.
We are proud to have been able to participate in this project so committed and respectful to preserve our beautiful blue planet!
