Today a change is required in many processes due to climatic emergency and in general due to the need of reducing human footprint on environment.
Regarding of how cold and heat are generated Enex has developed some uniques solutions, with zero or very low environmental impact. The customer can benefit also of the extremely low running cost.
The solutions developed by Enex are all based on electricity, which can easily be produced with natural sources (photovoltaic, hydroelectric, wind), at the same time assuming an extremely high efficiency. All that is perfectly in line with the undergoing energy transition, which is a general tendency to use electricity produced from renewable sources instead of hydrocarbons, for heat generation but also for electrical energy production.
Some examples are described below.
Airheat & Geoheat
This unique range of heat pumps are conceived for heating sanitary water for large users (hotels, communities, elderly houses for example). The water is heated in only one pass in the heat exchanger, properly designed. The heat pumps absorb heat – freely available – from air or water and transfer it to high temperature reservoir. For example, the water is heated from 15-20°C up to 70°C and stored in a water reservoir. The only process consuming energy is the compression of refrigerant (CO2), but with an energy input of 1 unit, as an example, it is possible to absorb 3 or 4 units of heat from ambient air – or water – and to transfer all the heat, that is 4 or 5 units, to hot water. This effect is surprising, at a first sight, but it is perfectly studied and adopted on Enex heat pumps.
HEAT recovery & integrated heating and cooling.
All the refrigeration units produced by Enex can have, as a standard or as an option, an integrated heat recovery. In this case all the heat can be considered as produced for free, Enex units are equipped with a suitable control to maximize the heat production.
Enex did more. As the “simple” design with heat recovery allows only to recover an amount of heat equivalent to “cold” produced, Enex has developed units – Integral – which can produce heat and cold in any proportion. These units are used in various applications, for example in industrial processes, but mainly in commercial refrigeration. Since some years “integral” units, installed in northern Italy, Romania and Switzerland, for example, are designed for contemporary production of “cold” for refrigerated and freezing cabinets of supermarkets and Hypermarkets, but also for completely heat the space in winter. Moreover, the units have the possibility to supply cold water for air conditioning in summer. It is evident that in winter, for example, the units can produce a lot of “gratis” hot energy. Also, in summer the combination of refrigeration and air conditioning can help to reduce electrical bill and also footprint of the system.
Enex installed many of these system, one example particularly significant is installed in one hypermarket in Padova, Italy.
